IAWTV and VidCon Announce Partnership for VidCon 2012
The International Academy of Web Television (IAWTV) today announced its plan to bring award winning talent and thought-leaders from the fields of Web television, Web video and digital entertainment to VidCon 2012 and its Industry Day via a new partnership between the two entities.
Best known for its IAWTV Awards which serve as an annual showcase for its members to pay tribute to the best of web television, while building community amongst industry luminaries, the IAWTV also conducts year round activities to help bring resources and education to its members and professionals working in the Web television industry.
“Partnering with VidCon creates a powerful combination of creators, talents, studios, and networks,” said Paul Kontonis, Chairman of the Board of Directors for IAWTV, and Vice President/Group Director of Brand Content at Digitas. “With Web television and online video becoming the fastest-growing and most influential form of digital media, this partnership will build an exciting way to promote and support the community.”
Hank Green, Co-Founder of VidCon noted, “VidCon, originally a large group of bloggers and musicians, has expanded to represent and celebrate the entire online community. With web series growing and the strong impact of the Inaugural IAWTV Awards, it only made sense to support an organization within this ever-evolving community.”
The VidCon 2012 conference is scheduled to take place June 28-30, 2012 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
